SUSAN LYNNER
Susan Lynner is Chair and Secretary of the Board. She retired as a senior vice president in the Washington Research Office of Prudential Equity Group, LLC, in March 2007, following almost 20 years of service offering institutional investors a broad perspective on federal legislative, regulatory and judicial developments affecting individual companies and industries, chiefly in the fields of telecommunications and media. Prior to her tenure with Prudential, Susan worked as a consultant on trade policy for Newmyer Associates and on technology transfer issues at the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration. Susan has a bachelor of arts from Allegheny College.
Susan bought her house on Newark Street in 1998 after living in Woodley Park for ten years. She served on the board of the Cleveland Park Historical Society (CPHS) from 2002 to 2007. She edited the CPHS newsletter Voices for three and a half years. In addition, Susan put her house on the CPHS October 2003 house tour and her garden on the CPHS May 2006 garden tour.
Susan also serves on the board of Opera Lafayette, an American period-instrument ensemble based in Washington, DC, dedicated to performances of 17th- and 18th-century operas, particularly the French repertoire.
TAMARA BELT, Vice Chair and Landscape Committee Chair

TAMARA BELT
Tamara joined the Board in 2010 and serves as Vice Chair and Landscape Committee Chair. She owns Hawthorne Garden Design, which specializes in high-end residential landscape design in the DC metropolitan region.
Before earning her degree in landscape design, Tamara was an environmental economist at the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank for over ten years, where she focused on projects in the environmental sector, such as establishing protected areas in Asia, promoting ecotourism in Brazil and Bolivia, and designing afforestation projects in Central America. She earned her Ph.D. in economics from the London School of Economics.
A native Spanish speaker and half-Colombian, Tamara also previously served as PTA co-chair at the Oyster-Adams Bilingual School. Tamara is married to Sean Greene, and they live in Woodley Park with their three children. She is delighted to be able to support the restoration of this neighborhood treasure.
NICK NETCHVOLODOFF, Treasurer

NICK NETCHVOLODOFF
Nick Netchvolodoff serves as Treasurer of the board. Nick worked in finance at several telecommunications companies, including MCI Corporation and PSINet, and was a vice president at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital before starting an independent financial consultancy in 2010. Nick earned a B.A. in mathematical economics from Brown University and is a certified public accountant.
Nick and his wife Cathy Livingston have lived and raised their two children in Cleveland Park since 1996. Nick was the immediate past President of the Cleveland Park Historical Society.
LYNN PARSEGHIAN, Executive Director

LYNN PARSEGHIAN, Executive Director
Lynn Parseghian joined Tregaron as executive director in 2015 with 20 years of experience practicing law in Washington at the law firms of O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Crowell & Moring LLP, in litigation and regulatory areas ranging from class action litigation to environmental law. Lynn served for many years as outside counsel to the Corcoran Gallery of Art, counseling the museum on a wide range of matters including exhibition and publication contracts, events, contractors, insurance and employment issues.
Lynn has held a number of leadership roles in DC’s nonprofit and philanthropic communities. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Washington Performing Arts. For seven years, she served on the Board of Cultural Tourism DC, including as Treasurer and Chair of the Development Committee. In 2012, she was appointed Interim Executive Director of Cultural Tourism DC, leading the organization through its annual gala and major events planning season. She has also served for nine years on the Boards of Adventure Theatre MTC and the Young Women’s Project.
From 2007 to 2019, Lynn was a member of the Rainmakers Giving Circle of the Washington Area Women’s Foundation. For two years, she co-chaired the Circle, managing its grant-making, assessment and educational activities. She has volunteered at the Maret School in several capacities and has worked with the faculty on environmental projects.
Lynn holds a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Chicago. She and her husband and their two children enjoy living in Cleveland Park next to Tregaron.
LIZZIE EDGEWORTH CANTACUZENE, Development Committee
LIZZIE EDGEWORTH CANTACUZENE
Lizzie Edgeworth Cantacuzene brings over 25 years of development and special events experience to the board. Lizzie has worked for the Maret School, where she served as Assistant Director of Development and as Archivist/Book and Film Coordinator for the school’s centennial celebration. Lizzie served as Director of the Heritage Society (Major Gifts) for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, planning events and cultivating major donors.
Lizzie’s board experience includes serving as the first Development Chair of the Tudor Place Historic Home and Gardens. She served on the Child Health Center Board of the National Children’s Medical Center. She has also volunteered for Horizons Greater Washington, the Washington Winter Show, THEARC, the Beauvoir School and the Bishop Walker School.
Lizzie received her BA in Art History from Washington College. She lives in Cathedral Heights with her husband and three children.
GEORGE IDELSON, Cleveland Park Citizens Association
George Idelson, a WWII veteran, is cited in G Company’s War and Stephen Ambrose’s The Victors.
George holds a marketing degree from New York University. He helped introduce the Porsche into the US market and taught advertising at George Washington University. George set up a public service advertising program for the Federal Trade Commission, was a consultant to the US Office of Consumer Affairs, and was a partner in a public relations firm specializing in consumer affairs. More recently, George edited and published a public policy newsletter on consumer advocacy.
George lives in Washington, DC, and is a board member of the National Mall Coalition. He is the past president of the Cleveland Park Citizens Association. He currently serves as a Trustee on the Committee of 100 on the Federal City and on the board of the DC Federation of Citizens Associations.
SUZANNA JEMSBY, Washington International School

Suzanna Jemsby joined WIS as Head of School after six years serving as Head of School at The Galloway School in Atlanta. At Galloway, she was recognized for strengthening the academic program and enrollment, and upgrading the school’s fundraising, marketing, and fiscal planning.
NANCY MacWOOD, ANC 3C Commissioner, Governance Committee

NANCY MacWOOD
Nancy MacWood is a commissioner of DC’s Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3C, which has strongly supported the creation of the Tregaron Conservancy and the preservation of the Tregaron landmark. She currently chairs the ANC 3C and is co-chair of its Preservation Committee and Planning and Zoning Committee.
Nancy has served on several city-wide task forces, including the DC Comprehensive Plan Revision Task Force and the multi-year task force reviewing and revising the District’s zoning code. Nancy is a board member of the Rosedale Conservancy and serves on the Committee of 100 on the Federal City. She and her husband, Robert Brandon, and occasionally one or more of their three daughters, live in Cleveland Park.
DENISE SCHLENER, Development Committee Chair

DENISE SCHLENER
Denise Schlener is Principal Consultant of Transition Leadership Partners and Chair of the Board of the Wilderness Land Trust. Most recently, she served as Interim Chief Operating Officer of Polaris, an organization dedicated to ending human trafficking. She previously served as Chief of Staff to the COO of the Humane Society of the United States and as Vice President for Strategic Advancement at Island Press, a nonprofit that provides ideas and information to those seeking to protect the environment. Denise was previously the national director of the Land Trust Alliance. She also served as director of The Trust for Public Land’s Chesapeake and Central Appalachian Field Office.
Prior to coming to Washington, DC, Denise led the Connecticut Chapter of The Nature Conservancy; created and directed a finance program for the Open Space Institute that supported landscape scale conservation purchases in New England and New York; and opened and led the Connecticut office of the Connecticut River Watershed Council. She also served as director of foundation relations for the Natural Resources Defense Council in New York and director of development for environmental programs at Yale University. She is a co-founder and former director of the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters. She has an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and a masters of forest science from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
CONSTANTINE STAVROPOULOS, Washington International School
CONSTANTINE STAVROPOULOS

Constantine Stavropoulos is member of the Board of Trustees of the Washington International School. He is the owner and operator of The Tryst Trading Company, a DC food group consisting of several restaurants (Tryst, The Diner, Open City, Tryst at the Phillips, The Coupe, Open City at the National Cathedral), and a catering operation (Who’s Cookin?); Constantine led the design and construction of each.
Constantine is a founding member of Think Local First, with its mission to “transform DC’s economy by developing and implementing solutions that strengthen the local independent business community”. He is also the President and founder of the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District (BID), a non-profit dedicated to promoting a clean and safe Adams Morgan for people to live, work, and play.
Constantine earned a BA in international business and finance from American University and attended American University in Paris.

DALE TEMPLE
Dale Temple is director of Facilities and Operations at the Washington International School. Prior to his arrival at WIS in 2013, he was facilities director of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Before moving to Washington, Mr. Temple was facilities director at Seattle Country Day School from 1999-2010. Earlier in his career, he worked for the IKEA N.A. Group and for the University of Idaho. He received his B.S. from West Chester University and his CFM from the University of Washington.
MELISSA VANOUSE, Governance Committee
MELISSA VANOUSE
Melissa joined the Tregaron board in early 2020. She is a Washingtonian and graduate of nearby National Cathedral School. Melissa’s professional career focuses on financial institution regulation, where she has worked for over 15 years on diverse supervision and risk management issues. She has a strong interest in the environment and enjoys spending time outdoors; she has identified more than 60 species of birds in her backyard. Melissa enjoys Tregaron for birding and relaxation with her husband and two young daughters.
Melissa received a B.A. in International Relations, with minors in Economics and Latin American Studies, from the University of Pennsylvania and an Masters in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
CAREN WILCOX

Caren rejoined the Conservancy board in 2019, having previously served on the board from 2008 to 2011. Now retired, Caren has had a career in food and agriculture, operating her own business, Caren Wilcox & Associates LLC., an advisory firm specializing in food and agriculture issues and government relations management. Before Caren founded CWALLC, she held numerous leadership positions as Deputy Under Secretary for Food Safety at USDA, worked on the Hill for a ranking member, and led government relations at Hershey Company. She was also Executive Director and CEO of the Organic Trade Association. Caren served for five years as Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture for Research, Education and Economics. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of the U.S. Hemp Grower’s Association.
Caren holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Woodley Park with her dog, Leo, who enjoys taking walks at Tregaron.
