Tregaron suffered heavy tree losses on July 29, and our volunteers and maintenance crew immediately rose to the occasion, clearing hundreds of branches and opening blocked trails. We still have daunting work ahead. Community support makes it all possible.

We’re thrilled to be hosting campers from @horizonsgreaterwashington for outdoor learning and guided hikes this summer. Connecting to their natural world, the campers were hot on the trail of beetles and ants. Our volunteer read this group a riveting book about insects that have antennae, compound eyes, and three-part bodies!

Major stonework is underway in Tregaron this month! Expert stonemasons are working to restore and rebuild Tregaron’s century-old original stone bridges, walls and stairways using existing and onsite stones. Erosion, invasive vines and decades of silt and mud took their toll on these stone features. Historic preservation in Tregaron is ongoing— conserving our city oasis for a new century of enjoyment!
