Susan Lynner, Chair & Secretary
Susan Lynner is Chair and Secretary of the Board. She retired as a senior vice president in the Washington Research Office of Prudential Equity Group, LLC, in March 2007, following almost 20 years of service offering institutional investors a broad perspective on federal legislative, regulatory and judicial developments affecting individual companies and industries, chiefly in the fields of telecommunications and media.

Prior to her tenure with Prudential, Susan worked as a consultant on trade policy for Newmyer Associates and on technology transfer issues at the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration. Susan has a bachelor of arts from Allegheny College.
Susan bought her house on Newark Street in 1998 after living in Woodley Park for ten years. She served on the board of the Cleveland Park Historical Society (CPHS) from 2002 to 2007. She edited the CPHS newsletter Voices for three and a half years. In addition, Susan put her house on the CPHS October 2003 house tour and her garden on the CPHS May 2006 garden tour.
Susan also serves on the board of Opera Lafayette, an American period-instrument ensemble based in Washington, DC, dedicated to performances of 17th- and 18th-century operas, particularly the French repertoire.
Tamara Belt, Vice Chair & Landscape Committee Chair
Tamara joined the Board in 2010 and serves as Vice Chair and Landscape Committee Chair. She owns Hawthorne Garden Design, which specializes in high-end residential landscape design in the DC metropolitan region.

Before earning her degree in landscape design, Tamara was an environmental economist at the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank for over ten years, where she focused on projects in the environmental sector, such as establishing protected areas in Asia, promoting ecotourism in Brazil and Bolivia, and designing afforestation projects in Central America. She earned her Ph.D. in economics from the London School of Economics.
A native Spanish speaker and half-Colombian, Tamara also previously served as PTA co-chair at the Oyster-Adams Bilingual School. Tamara is married to Sean Greene, and they live in Woodley Park with their three children. She is delighted to be able to support the restoration of this neighborhood treasure.
Nick Netchvolodoff, Treasurer
Nick Netchvolodoff serves as Treasurer of the board. Nick worked in finance at several telecommunications companies, including MCI Corporation and PSINet, and was a vice president at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital before starting an independent financial consultancy in 2010.

Nick earned a B.A. in mathematical economics from Brown University and is a certified public accountant.
Nick and his wife Cathy Livingston have lived and raised their two children in Cleveland Park since 1996. Nick was the immediate past President of the Cleveland Park Historical Society.
Lynn Parseghian, Executive Director, Ex Officio
Lynn Parseghian joined Tregaron as executive director in 2015 with 20 years of experience practicing law in Washington at the law firms of O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Crowell & Moring LLP, in areas ranging from class action and antitrust litigation to environmental law.

Lynn served for many years as outside general counsel to the Corcoran Gallery of Art and School of Art & Design, counseling the museum and school on a wide range of matters including exhibition and publication contracts, special events, contractors, insurance, and employment and student issues.
Lynn has held a number of leadership roles in DC’s nonprofit and philanthropic communities. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Washington Performing Arts, serving on the Executive Committee and chairing the organization’s 2023 strategic planning process. For seven years, she served on the Board of Cultural Tourism DC, including as Treasurer and Chair of the Development Committee. In 2012, she was appointed as the organization’s Interim Executive Director, leading it through the annual gala and major events planning season. She also served for nine years on the boards of Adventure Theatre MTC and the Young Women’s Project.
From 2007 to 2019, Lynn was a member of the Rainmakers Giving Circle of the Washington Area Women’s Foundation. She co-chaired the Circle for two years, managing its grant-making, assessment and educational activities. She also volunteered for many years at the Maret School on the Endowment Campaign, Annual Fund, and in other roles, and worked with the faculty on environmental education projects.
Lynn holds a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Chicago. She and her family enjoy living in Cleveland Park.
Lizzie Edgeworth Cantacuzene, Development Committee Chair
Lizzie Edgeworth Cantacuzene brings over 25 years of development and special events experience to the board. Lizzie has worked for the Maret School, where she served as Assistant Director of Development and as Archivist/Book and Film Coordinator for the school’s centennial celebration.

Lizzie served as Director of the Heritage Society (Major Gifts) for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, planning events and cultivating major donors. She currently serves on the board of the Bishop Walker School.
Lizzie’s other board experience includes serving as the first Development Chair of the Tudor Place Historic Home and Gardens. She served on the Child Health Center Board of the National Children’s Medical Center. She has also volunteered for Horizons Greater Washington, the Washington Winter Show, THEARC, and the Beauvoir School.
Lizzie received her B.A. in Art History from Washington College. She lives in Cathedral Heights with her husband and three children.
Martha Coven
Martha Coven joined the Tregaron board in 2023. She is a longtime resident of Woodley Park, where she lives with her husband, two children, and springer spaniel. She is a Visiting Professor at the Princeton School of Public & International Affairs, the author of Writing on the Job: Best Practices for Communicating in the Digital Age (Princeton University Press, 2022), and the founder of Coven Consulting LLC, a consulting practice serving nonprofit and philanthropic clients. Earlier in her career, she served in the Obama White House and as a congressional aide. She holds a B.A. in economics and a J.D. from Yale University.
Sophie Hawkins, Washington International School
Sophie Hawkins is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Washington International School and also serves on the board of the Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens as Assistant Treasurer.
She holds degrees from Princeton University and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Sophie worked at Merrill Lynch and UBS prior to becoming a full-time mother. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Val, and two daughters.
Nicholas Hill, Washington International School
Nicholas Hill is a partner at Bates White Economic Consulting. He has served as an economic expert for private clients, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Trade Commission. He has testified in federal court and the Federal Trade Commission’s administrative court.

He developed the capacity closure model, which is often used to analyze mergers in commodity industries. Prior to joining Bates White, Dr. Hill served as assistant section chief in the Economic Analysis Group of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, where he received the US Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service and was an economist in the Bureau of Economics at the Federal Trade Commission. Dr. Hill has been named to the Who’s Who Legal list of Competition Economists since 2020 and was recognized as a Global Elite Competition Thought Leader in 2022.
Nicholas is a WIS alumnus and trustee. He and his wife Melissa have a son who is enrolled in WIS’s Class of 2036.
Suzanna Jemsby, Washington International School
Suzanna Jemsby joined WIS as Head of School after six years serving as Head of School at The Galloway School in Atlanta. At Galloway, she was recognized for strengthening the academic program and enrollment, and upgrading the school’s fundraising, marketing, and fiscal planning.

Prior to Galloway, Suzanna was Executive Director of the Center for the Advancement and Study of International Education (CASIE), an educational non-profit that provides professional development training to independent and public schools across North America. Altogether, she has 21 years of experience at international and independent schools in the U.S. and Europe. In addition to her native English, she speaks Swedish, German, and French.
Suzanna earned BA and MA degrees in Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Cambridge. In 2015, she became a Fellow in the Head of School Program of the Klingenstein Center at Columbia University. Suzanna also attended the London College of Music, and is an avid cellist.
Jim Myers, Development Committee
Jim Myers joined the Tregaron board in 2023. He is Deputy General Counsel at Fannie Mae, where he leads a team from the Washington D.C. office that provides legal advice on corporate governance matters and supports the Company’s corporate secretary and governance operations. Jim also serves on the Board of Directors of D.C.-based Fair Chance, which works to strengthen community-based nonprofits serving under-resourced communities.

Jim received his A.B. in Political Science and Geology from Duke University and his J.D. from the University of Michigan. After working in various roles on Capitol Hill, Jim started his legal career practicing at Shaw Pittman LLP, where in addition to capital markets he also had the opportunity to work with several local non-profits on formation and organizational matters. Later, he refined his capital markets and corporate governance skillsets at Lowenstein Sandler’s New Jersey and New York offices and in northern New Jersey and Amsterdam working for listed companies. He and his partner now enjoy seeing their Woodley Park neighbors at Tregaron Conservancy events, including the Conservancy’s annual “Tregaron Unplugged” music event in partnership with the Washington Performing Arts.
Denise Schlener, Development Committee
Denise Schlener is Principal Consultant of Transition Leadership Partners and Chair of the Board of the Wilderness Land Trust. Most recently, she served as Interim Chief Operating Officer of Polaris, an organization dedicated to ending human trafficking.

She previously served as Chief of Staff to the COO of the Humane Society of the United States and as Vice President for Strategic Advancement at Island Press, a nonprofit that provides ideas and information to those seeking to protect the environment. Denise was previously the national director of the Land Trust Alliance. She also served as director of The Trust for Public Land’s Chesapeake and Central Appalachian Field Office.
Prior to coming to Washington, DC, Denise led the Connecticut Chapter of The Nature Conservancy; created and directed a finance program for the Open Space Institute that supported landscape scale conservation purchases in New England and New York; and opened and led the Connecticut office of the Connecticut River Watershed Council. She also served as director of foundation relations for the Natural Resources Defense Council in New York and director of development for environmental programs at Yale University. She is a co-founder and former director of the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters. She has an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and a masters of forest science from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
Sauleh Siddiqui, ANC Commissioner, SMD 3C05, Ex Officio
Sauleh joined the Board in 2023 as the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) for single-member district 3C05, in which Tregaron is located.

He has lived in Cleveland Park since 2013 and is a big fan of the outdoor green space that Tregaron provides for families like his who don’t have access to it where they live. His love for the environment is built upon his day job at American University as an associate professor of Environmental Science. Beyond serving on the ANC, he previously served on the board of the Cleveland Park Citizens (now Community) Association, where he was chair of the Transportation Committee and inaugural co-chair of the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Committee. He has volunteered for our community in several ways over the past several years, and is excited to be a member of the Tregaron board. He received an A.B. in Mathematics and Public Policy from Franklin & Marshall College and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics & Statistics, and Scientific Computation from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Frank Swain, Cleveland Park Historical Society, Governance Committee
A native of Corning, New York, Frank has lived in Washington, D.C. since he graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Now retired, Frank was a partner in the law firm of Faegre Baker Daniels for over 25 years, where he specialized in government contract compliance and general regulatory matters. Frank was nominated and served as Chief Counsel for Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Association.
Frank for several years chaired the Metropolitan Club Historical Foundation. He serves on the board of the Cleveland Park Historical Society, and appreciates the opportunity to support local preservation priorities. Frank is a member of the Maryland Native Plant Society and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. He enjoys hiking, fishing and skiing.
Dale Temple, Washington International School
Dale Temple is director of Facilities and Operations at the Washington International School. Prior to his arrival at WIS in 2013, he was facilities director of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Before moving to Washington, Mr. Temple was facilities director at Seattle Country Day School from 1999-2010. Earlier in his career, he worked for the IKEA N.A. Group and for the University of Idaho. He received his B.S. from West Chester University and his CFM from the University of Washington.
Melissa Vanouse, Governance Committee Chair
Melissa joined the Tregaron board in early 2020. She is a Washingtonian and graduate of nearby National Cathedral School. Melissa’s professional career focuses on financial institution regulation, where she has worked for over 15 years on diverse supervision and risk management issues.

She has a strong interest in the environment and enjoys spending time outdoors; she has identified more than 60 species of birds in her backyard. Melissa enjoys Tregaron for birding and relaxation with her husband and two young daughters.
Melissa received a B.A. in International Relations, with minors in Economics and Latin American Studies, from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
Barr Weiner, Cleveland Park Community Association
John Barlow Weiner is the Associate Director for Policy in the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Combination Products, which is tasked with ensuring the sound and consistent regulation of combination products and also with the classification and assignment for regulation of medical products (drugs, devices, biological products, and combination products).
Barr serves as the President of the Cleveland Park Community Association.
Susie Zimmermann, Development Committee
Susie brings 30-plus years of marketing and communications experience to the Conservancy. She currently provides services to nonprofits, federal contractors and other businesses through her consulting firm, Channel Z Marketing. From 2009 to 2018, she served as Director of Communications at Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland. Earlier in her career, Susie managed marketing communications programs for organizations including the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Americorps and the Peace Corps.
Susie is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is originally from Atlanta. She served on the Conservancy’s board from 2017-2020 and rejoined the board in 2024.
