New family at Tregaron! A mother mallard and her little ducklings on the Lily Pond today. If you see them, best to watch from a distance so as not to cause the mother to flee, separating them.

From our partner, @washingtonperformingarts: As spring begins to bloom, we highlight American environmental scientist/author Rachel Carson.
Through her research, Carson warned against the use of pesticides and advocated for conservation. Her work inspired modern composer Gabriela Lena Frank to create “The Edge of Everything: Elegy for Rachel Louise Carson” for narrator and string quartet, a work co-commissioned by Washington Performing Arts that makes its world premiere at Sixth & I on April 12. This new work, with its urgency and hope for a greener world, features Pacifica Quartet and narrator Nina Totenberg.

And mark your calendars for our free co-produced Meadow Concert at Tregaron on Sunday, May 3!
