What’s In Bloom

You’ll see a diverse array of trees, shrubs, flowering plants and ground cover throughout Tregaron’s 13 acres. Select a month below to see what’s typically in bloom. Every year unfolds a bit differently, due to varying weather conditions, and every visit is a unique experience!

Our landscape features many native plants, and many that appear on Ellen Biddle Shipman’s original designs, which were initiated in 1915. Shipman’s professional records — including her remarkable landscape designs for The Causeway, as Tregaron was originally named — are archived at Cornell University. Preservation of this documentary record enables our landscape designers to interpret, recapture and renew Shipman’s historic designs for Tregaron’s wild gardens.

Below each photo you’ll find the featured plant’s common and Latin names. Most of the photos were taken by our volunteer professional photographer, Jennifer Packard. For more of Jennifer’s stunning photos of Tregaron, visit our Instagram.
