6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 15, 10am-Noon by the Lily Pond near the Klingle Entrance (3000 block of Klingle Rd NW). Bring a basket or bag. We’ll have a separate hunting area for kids under five. This is a free event; donations to support our programs are always gratefully accepted! RSVPs appreciated; email info@tregaronconservancy.org indicating # of kids attending.
Tree Care 101: Tour & Workshop with Arborist Dan Lonergan of SavaTree. Sunday, April 30, 1pm-2:30 pm. Join us at the Macomb Entrance (3100 Macomb Street NW) for a tour and some tips on how to keep your trees beautiful and healthy. Refreshments will be served. New Event! Springtime Early Birds, Saturday, May 13, 7:30-9:30 am. Join us for our first bird walk at Tregaron, led by Jim Nelson. Jim has been birding for over 30 years and leads walks for many groups including the Audubon Society and Maryland Ornithological Society. Space is limited; register here.
Volunteer Planting & Clean-Up Day: Sunday, May 21, 1-3pm. Meet us by the Lily Pond near the Klingle Entrance to plant a garden and clear invasives. Gloves, equipment and refreshments will be provided. Email us if you’re planning to attend and let us know the size of your group. Kids are welcome as long as they’re supervised by an adult and willing to help out. We hope you’ll join our volunteer crew to learn about year-round opportunities work alongside a great bunch of people helping us restore and beautify the landscape!
Tregaron Featured at the National Building Museum: We’re delighted that the National Building Museum is hosting three events featuring Tregaron in April! On April 19, our preservation consultant, Glenn Stach, will be speaking at the Museum on Ellen Biddle Shipman’s wild gardens. NBM and Tregaron will offer “Urban Salons” at Tregaron on April 8 and 27.
