Klingle Valley Trail Construction Has Started!

July 21, 2015

Klingle Valley Trail (KVT) is finally under construction! We look forward to connecting Tregaron to a beautiful new hiker/biker trail and welcoming new visitors from Rock Creek Park via KVT to our woodlands.  For more photos, visit (and Like) our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TregaronDC.

KVT is a “Green Infrastructure” project, part of the District’s long-range goal of making DC the greenest city in the nation. Green Infrastructure design creates a living network that connects landscape areas, natural areas and waterways.  This project also features  innovative “Low-Impact Development” techniques, which mimic nature to capture and treat storm water as close to the source as possible and create natural pathways for wildlife.  The trail will also offer picturesque views of some of Tregaron’s historic stone features.

Bulldozers are busy tearing up the old road and removing dead trees, so kids may be interested in the view (from a safe distance)! The project will be completed in about 18 months.  During this period, the construction area is closed to pedestrians.  Please use caution on the trails of Tregaron that border the construction site, stay outside DDOT’s fencing and observe the closure signs.

Tai Chi with David Harold- Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays

Free

Weekly Tai Chi Practice led by David Harold on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9-10 a.m. The group will gather west of the Lily Pond (or in the nearby Twin Oak meadow if the Conservancy is hosting another event). The nearest entrance is 3031 Klingle Road NW.

Note: The program will only be canceled in the even of heavy rain, high winds, or thunderstorms, or if David is unavalible. Cancellations will be posted on the pop-up notice on the website home page.

No registration is necessary, but participants will be required to sign our standard release form at the start of the session.

David Harold has been practicing Taiji and Qigong for over 40 years for much of that time. He has studied both in Yang and Chen styles. He is retired from a career in psychotherapy and human services management.

David is passionate about making Taiji and Qigong practice and principles accessible. For 15 years, he led a free, weekly public outdoor practice in Winston-Salem, NC. That practice continues to be led by his students now that he has moved to DC. David is now particularly interested in using Taiji principles to build embodied peacemaking.
