April 24, 2014

Sri Chinmoy Peace RunnersOn Wednesday, April 23, 2014, runners from around the world came to Tregaron to plant a yoshino cherry tree in honor of Sri Chinmoy (1931 – 2007) founder of the PEACE RUN.Sri Chinmoy tree planting 1  Joining the runners, were students from the Oneness-Family School in Chevy Chase, MD.  After a few remarks and a song by the runners, the students read two poems about trees and recited a speech by Chief Seattle.  They also sang a song “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.”  The plaque that will be placed at the base of the tree will read:  “Sri Chinmoy Peace Tree, April 23, 2014:  ‘A moment’s peace can and shall make the world beautiful.’  Sri Chinmoy”
