The Urban Adventure Squad, which holds enrichment programs for grades K through 5 on days when local schools are not in session, visited Tregaron on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 19th. Twenty four children hiked Tregaron’s trails, inspected the lily pond and played soccer in the Twin Oak meadow. The group’s leader Elana Mintz said that in addition to outdoor fun, the outing was focused on environmental stewardship. Ms. Mintz wrote that she wanted the children to “feel responsible for the places that give them so much happiness.” They had a “BEAUTIFUL day at Tregaron” and the kids learned about the history of Tregaron as well as the meaning of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Day of Service.
